About TravelingFirst
A modern travel publication built around inspiration, practical guidance and honest storytelling — for adventure, budget, festival and solo travel alike.
Our Story
TravelingFirst started from a simple observation: most travel content online falls into one of two extremes. Either it's an aspirational photo feed with no practical detail, or it's a dense logistics guide with none of the feeling of what a place is actually like. We wanted something in between — writing that's useful enough to plan a real trip from, and honest enough to read like it was written by someone who's actually been there.
What We Cover
Our coverage is organized around four travel styles that we think matter most to how people actually plan trips today:
- Adventure — mountains, trails and outdoor experiences for travelers who want to go beyond the usual path.
- Budget Planning — practical, tested ways to travel more without overspending.
- Festival Travel — journeys planned around the celebrations, traditions and cultural moments worth witnessing firsthand.
- Solo Travel — guidance and inspiration for travelers exploring the world on their own terms.
Our Approach
Practical First
Every guide is written to actually be usable — real logistics, honest trade-offs, no vague advice.
Editorial Standards
We write like a magazine, not a listicle mill — clear structure, real sentences, no filler.
Travel Style, Not One-Size-Fits-All
An adventure traveler and a first-time solo traveler need different advice — we write for both, separately.
Why We Travel
Because a place is never quite what you expect from a photo, and the gap between the two is usually where the best stories live. We travel to be surprised, to eat something we can't get at home, to get a little lost on purpose. TravelingFirst exists to help make that easier — not to replace the experience, but to get you to the good part faster.
